This appears to be one of those colour night vision optical devices. It has a built in 940nm light so you can see in total darkness and anyone without night vision wont see you. It has options for IR and day and green and red view. It has a rubber eye piece for hand held or helmet mounted use but the eye piece can also be removed and the device attached to a rifle scope to all night use of a firearm. Unlike the old image intensification night vision you can use this day or night and it wont be damaged by bright lights like car headlights or camera flashes. The life of the sensor should be enormous to the point that you should not probably worry about it failing from over use. The battery is rechargeable lithium. Looking through the optic you can see what appears to be a TV screen mounted on a mirror displaying the night view. Seems a little strange at first but it works OK. Overall I am happy with the purchase and think I paid a reasonable price for the item.
